summer sunflowers

This summer, the sunflowers had a lot of personality
and the bugs were loving them!  I had fun trying to capture
their different personas, without disturbing the creepy crawlies!

New 2012 Bulletin Boards

This is my new hallway bulletin board for this semester.
We have a chronic problem at my school of students not
bringing a pencil with them when they go to electives.
I am hoping to resolve this issue a bit by
proclaiming my expectations loud and clear!

I bought these cute pencil borders and pencil shapes at Wal-mart.  They are really starting to think of teachers' needs and these are very inexpensive!  I made the caution tape by printing the word on bright yellow-orange paper and "laminating" and attaching them together with packing tape.

I made this board to contain my extra fun projects I have made
for the art room. It was very simple to put together, but I am still
proud of it, even though I know bulletin board art is not my forte!
I posted about these projects here and here.

Summer Fun 2012

This summer I was very productive with many art making adventures!
Here are just a few of my fun projects I finished during my summer vacation.

I created some 12 by 12" stamples for Mrs. O'Leary's
using Artful Illusions stamps and collaged paper layers.

This is a project my friend Kristin and I created for her new house.
We found the idea on Pinterest along with lots more inspiring
projects to complete next time!

We cut the background stencils and birds using the Cricut

I used left over supplies from the bird canvases and some awesome finds from
the thrift store to make this great assemblage inspired by Tracie Lyn Huskamp.

My friend Jennifer and I painted the walls in her new "at home studio" with
fun flowers, frames and this tree! (the butterfly is a large decorative sticker)

I made this little copper book at Art Unplugged at Mrs. O'leary's in June.

I used some of my family heritage pictures and sunflower pictures for the pages.  It was great fun to personalize the project!  I also learned a lot of new ideas and techniques for book pages with this project.  Thanks Joni for such a great workshop and book idea!

Oh!  And I made a quilt too!!!
My sister and I took a guilt class from
Leslie at Material Girls Quilt Shoppe in Wichita.
We had lots of fun and learned a great new hobby!
